愛倫·坡對(duì)于現(xiàn)在的恐怖小說、偵探小說、科幻小說都有深遠(yuǎn)影響。他那些怪異、恐怖的故事情節(jié)，充滿夸張、隱喻和象征的表現(xiàn)手法，對(duì)于人性、心理和精神狀態(tài)的細(xì)膩描寫，都已載入教科書（文學(xué)專業(yè)的同學(xué)又想起了那些年被愛倫·坡支配的恐懼）。

今年上映后口碑爆棚的《小丑回魂：第一部》就改編自這部小說。
